Government of India conducted a big vitasta festival on Kashmir in Chennai which started on 27th of January. Prof Rattan Lal Hangloo, former vice chancellor University of Kalyani and Allahabad University and Honorary Chancellor of noble International University Toranto Canada and distinguished visiting professor SRM University Amravati Andhrapradesh was invited as chief guest.
Prof Hangloo while giving his views as chief guest emphasized communal harmony as the bed rock of Kashmiriyat stating that multiculturalism and plurality has been preached by shaivism and Kashmiri Sufi order.He stated that strengthening these ideas will take kashmir forward on the path of peace.Many other scholars working on kashmir were also present. The festival was contributed lot by Kashmiri artists and musicians.
