Srinagar 18 Jun : Veteran writer, cultural activist, former Secretary and Vice-President of the Jammu & Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, former Member of the Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Council, and prominent public intellectual Zafar Iqbal Manhas has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the demise of Mohammad Yousouf Wani, father of eminent scholar, writer and youth mentor Amir Suhail Wani. Manhas conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the family to bear this irreparable loss.
In his condolence message, Manhas said that Mohammad Yousouf Wani leaves behind a legacy of integrity, resilience and moral strength reflected in the achievements and character of his son, Amir Suhail Wani, who has emerged as one of the most promising young intellectual voices of Jammu & Kashmir.
Paying rich tributes to Amir Suhail Wani, Manhas described him as a scholar of exceptional merit, a prolific writer, researcher and social thinker whose contributions in the fields of education, literature, youth development and public discourse have inspired countless young people across the region. He said that through his writings, lectures and intellectual engagements, Amir has consistently encouraged the youth to pursue knowledge, critical inquiry, social responsibility and constructive nation-building.
Manhas further observed that despite facing prolonged uncertainty and hardship arising out of the Junior Engineer (Electrical) recruitment controversy, Amir Suhail Wani has displayed remarkable patience, dignity and faith in democratic institutions. He appreciated Amir’s steadfast struggle for justice and transparency, noting that his perseverance has become a source of inspiration for many talented young aspirants who believe in merit, fairness and the rule of law.
“Amir Suhail Wani represents the finest traditions of scholarship and public service in Jammu & Kashmir. His academic accomplishments, literary contributions and commitment to empowering young minds have earned him widespread respect. The manner in which he has pursued justice in the JE (Electrical) recruitment matter reflects courage, conviction and unwavering faith in constitutional processes,” Manhas said.
Expressing complete solidarity with the bereaved family, Manhas said that the entire Wani clan shares in this moment of collective grief and remembrance. He conveyed his sympathies to all members of the family and prayed that Almighty Allah grants the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous.
Manhas reiterated that the intellectual and social contributions of Amir Suhail Wani continue to inspire the younger generation and expressed hope that he would soon be able to resume his academic, literary and public engagements with renewed strength and purpose.
