Srinagar, Jul 10 : The two-day Ayushman Bharat regional review meeting for Northern region organized by National Health Authority started in Srinagar on Monday.
Advisor to Lieutenant Governor, RR Bhatnagar, while inaugurating the session thanked authorities for conducting the meeting in Srinagar. Secretary Health Bhupinder Kumar in his speech welcomed the guests.
A top health official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the Ayushman Sangam is organized to review the progress of Ayushman Bharat PMJAY and ABDM across the region and draw a further roadmap of the scheme.
They said the two-day interaction will create avenues of cohesive thought exchange facilitating assessment of progress made by both Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY & ABDM schemes in the States/UTs of Northern region.
Additional CEO, NHA Dr Basant Garg on the occasion presented an overview of Ayushman Bharat progress in the Northern Region while assessing the areas of improvement and the vision ahead. He highlighted the importance of Information, Education and communication (IEC) activities to create awareness and reach 100% of beneficiaries.
CEO, NHA S Gopalakrishnan in his address at Ayushman Sangam emphasized that Universal Health coverage is a very big challenge in all states. The experience from this review meeting will be useful in its implementation and come out as a cross-learning platform, he said.
Other officials on the occasion put forward their viewpoints to draw further road map of the scheme.
