Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) on Friday staged a protest in Srinagar to demonstrate against attempts to scrap Article 35 A and killing of a civilian in alleged fake encounter by the government forces.

Scores of leaders staged a protest march in Maisuma area of the city.

The protesters were carrying banners with messages like “any meddling with State Subject Law means attack on our identity. Kashmiris will not accept any such move”.

The leaders were demonstrating against attempts to abrogate Article 35-A and killing of a civilian Shahid Ahmad Mir in an alleged fake encounter by government forces in Handwara on Tuesday.
