Kupwara, Aug 25 : Life was disrupted in frontier district Kupwara on Friday as the people observed a shutdown against the killing of a student in an alleged fake encounter in Hefdara forests in Handwara a couple of days ago.

   Reports said that all shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the road.

No separatist group had called for strike today.

The Jammu and Kashmir government on Friday ordered a magisterial inquiry into the killing of the third year student Shahid Bashir Mir, who army claimed to have killed in an encounter in Hafrada forests in Handwara on Tuesday.

Police has also ruled out any militancy links of Mir.
