Srinagar, May 15: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast partly to generally cloudy weather across Jammu and Kashmir with light rain, thundershowers and gusty winds at scattered to many places during May 15 and 16.

According to the forecast issued by the MET Centre Srinagar, weather conditions are expected to remain generally dry on May 17 and 18.

However, from May 19 to 20, the Union Territory is likely to witness generally cloudy weather with spells of light rain and thundershowers at scattered places.

The weather department said May 21 is expected to remain generally cloudy with brief spells of rain at isolated places, while dry weather is likely to prevail from May 22 to 25.

In its advisory, the MET Centre warned of the possibility of thunder, lightning and gusty winds with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph at a few places in both Kashmir and Jammu divisions during May 15 and 16.

The department has also advised people to suspend boating and shikara riding, particularly during afternoon and late afternoon hours, in view of possible gusty winds and thunderstorms.
