As we know that the recent four day visit of Home Minister to the state comes in the back drop of Prime Minister Statement from Lal Qila on 70th Indian Republic Day that Kashmir problem will be addressed by Insaniyat, Jumhuriyat and Kashmiriyat. Prime Minister also stress on the need to embrace and provide a great gesture to the people of Kashmir at each and every corner in India.
Even if there is a huge gap in words and the ground situation, the statement of Prime Ministers will be seen as positive by taking concrete measures. Big political and non-political personalities visited Kashmir valley so far and they put forth their concrete road map but nothing productive has happened and we have seen only broken promises by GOI. The political environment (mainstream and extremists) badly shattered and there seems no hope of revival. The visit has big shadows mostly because of NIA raids on different parts of Kashmir, Jammu and Delhi on hurriyat leaders and business community.
At the same time the statement of Home Minister on Art- 35 A that GOI would not go against the sentiments of the people of J&K, there seems a ray of hope. The visited delegation from Home Ministry GOI led by Home Minister will be productive when even though the past experiences are bitter one. The open invitation to all stake holders in Kashmir including Hurriyat for unconditional talks will be converted into reality.
The open offer of talks by Home Minister to everyone in Kashmir may not be sarcastic and shall not result anything as the same is seen as “hollow cum misleading” promise. The double standard from the GOI shall not work by offering talks with open mind and restrictions on movement of hurriyat leaders. It will be a big question that “With whom Mr. Rajnath Singh wants to talk that too open mindedly? It will be a big question to whome he ponder upon his words and find answer of word ‘open mindedness’ first!
The visit is seen as a result of other such type of visits because on one said he claim to throw open offer and on other side on his arrival Hurriyat leadership gets arrested & kept confined within their houses and / or Police Stations”.
Every Official from Home Ministry or any other dignity from GOI forget their words what they say or promise what they made in Kashmir when they return to Delhi.
What can be more sarcastic and hurt giving than that time and again Political Parties in Government showed big words and promises which loose their meaning and become irrelevant by pushing barriers on the free movement of Hurriyat leadership. It may be fittest of the things if the Home Ministry conduct the talks with all stake holders including Hurriyat in order to break the ice to solve the Kashmir Issue once for all.
If Mr. Rajnath Singh really mean his words –Kashmiriyat, Jamoriyat and Insaniyat, then he must pursued and recommend the Union Government to set Hurriyat Leaders free. Young people including a cream youth of Kashmir are ruined in different jails in India, steps are to be taken to set them free. It will be fittest of the things if AFSPA will be withdrawn even in selective areas. The recommendations of interlocutors’ submitted by them in the year 2010 will be a good beginning.
Home ministry and Home Minister Mr. Rajnath Singh may take concrete steps and believe in that hyping Hollow promises wouldn’t yield anything. Pal Bhar ke liye koi hame pyar too kare – Jootha hi Sahi (For the moment, someone love us- May be fallacious)
