Messages of condolence have poured in from journalists, politicians, and members of civil society, describing his death as a “great loss to Kashmiri journalism.”

The cause of his passing was not immediately known. Funeral prayers are expected to be held in Srinagar, with large numbers of colleagues and admirers likely to attend.

May his soul rest in peace.
