On Friday just a few lines of text to the Principal Secretary and Government spokesman Rohit Kansal, made it possible for the poor Kishtwar family stuck in Jammu due to Lockdown, to reach home safely.
A family from Kishtwar district comprising of four members was stuck in Gandi Nagar area of Jammu district since Lockdown announced by the government to prevent deadly coronavirus.
Muhammad Yousuf, a resident of sundhar, Dachan, Kishtwar district, was stuck along with his three more family members including an infant and a four-year old daughter.
“I was stuck in Jammu from last one and half month, I was facing a lot of difficulties. We had no food, no money. My and my family’s only wish was to be allowed to travel to Kishtwar and nothing else,” Yousuf told news agency .
He said that many times he contacted officials in the Jammu district, and requested them for allowing him and his family to proceed to Kishtwar from Jammu. “They told me that there are clear directions from the government not to allow any movement. Recently when I visited DC office Jammu I was told to submit application so that they can arrange my movement pass. But I was running short of money and my wife and kids were under a tight grip of fear and she would say perhaps all four of us may die in Jammu,” said Yousuf.
After sensing that the District administration may take time to issue movement pass given the fact of rush of people who want to reach home, Yousuf decided not to make any more pleas.
However, he got in touch with the office and accordingly a text message was forwarded to government spokesman Rohit Kansal that read: “sir just want to inform you that this poor guy is in desperate need of help. He along with his family is stuck in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu since over a month, he has no food, no money and he wants to go home which is in Soundhar, Dachan, Kishtwar. We hope sir a pass will be arranged for him so that he can proceed for his home.”
Barely few minutes after Kansal read the message, Yousuf was provided a pass and assistance on Friday afternoon from the government after which he left for his home district. Yousuf reached Kishtwar on Saturday with all praises for government spokesman Rohit Kansal.
“I thought its end and we will have to die in Jammu district. But thanks to Kansal sir, who acted within few hours and ensured that I along with my family reached home safely,” Yousuf told with the smile on his face. (KINS)
